Dr. Beatrice Ncho is an academic coach, mentor and medical device researcher. After experiencing a 10+ year education journey as an international student and a black woman pursuing STEM education in the United States, Beatrice decided to share her experiences to inspire and encourage students on a similar journey.

Beatrice grew up in Cameroon, West Africa, and came to the United States immediately after her High School education. She attended St Charles Community College, in Missouri for two years taking general coursework, and then transferred to Texas Tech University (TTU), where she majored in Chemical Engineering. She graduated with her B.S in Chemical Engineering with a Summa Cum Laude, and then decided to pursue a M.S & Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Driven by her desire to one day impact medical care, Beatrice pursued research that aimed at understanding and engineering safer medical devices for patients. Beatrice currently works for one of the leading medical device manufacturers as a Research & Development Engineer. She is also a founding board member of Hidden No More Cameroon (HNM237), a non-profit organization that seeks to celebrate the achievements of Cameroonian women and girls in STEM, while encouraging more women to pursue careers in STEM fields.

Beatrice has mentored over 20 students to date (ranging from high-school through graduate school). Beatrice hopes to use this website to reach more students as they pursue their educational and professional goals.
